To mark the 80th anniversary of Korea’s Liberation Day, the Seoul Metropolitan Government is hosting a variety of year-round commemorative programs.
These programs aim to help citizens reflect on the meaning and value of liberation, enhance recognition of the historical significance of the independence movement, and foster a celebratory atmosphere.
The design visualizes the concept of infinity, combining the flow of the Han River with the “S” of Seoul.
It uses colors symbolizing dynamics and the Taegeuk wave to represent the 80th anniversary of liberation.
Today’s Seoul opened a new era with liberation,
moving beyond the memories of the past to become the heart of Korea.
This commemoration invites citizens to share in the changes and progress of the past 80 years since liberation. On this 80th Liberation Day, we will create new memories to carry forward and unfold greater stories of liberation toward the future.
